Purpose: Exports note as footnote
For sub-posts only.
A BoxPress footnote is a note that exports as its own page, is removed from the main text flow, does not appear in the Table of Contents, and has no date.
To force a sub-post to export as a footnote, just add FOOTNOTE to the note’s $blogExpOpt
.
FOOTNOTE sub-posts are easily spotted in Outline View, for their Outline Background Color is set to dark green. Change the value of the custom color _ownpage to change this.

Here’s a good use of the FOOTNOTE export option. You want a note to be a footnote of another—that is, you don’t want it to appear in the Table of Contents or to be embedded as a sub-post. Yet you do want it accessible from a link. Set its $blogExpOpt
to FOOTNOTE.
FOOTNOTE is a combination of OWNPAGE and NOTOC.
The logical place for footnotes is as children. To make a footnote note automatically, select the text you want to serve as link and hit ⇧⌘F, then set resultant child note’s $blogExpOpt
to FOOTNOTE.
