SmartButtons are miniaturized versions of your notes that display more than just the note’s name. They also include the note’s featured image, code syntax, biographical date range, subtitle, and more—depending on prototype.

When a note exports non-compiled, its children are listed as SmartButtons. But you can add a SmartButton anywhere using the bstSB template or the IncSB macro.
