Inside the Dashboard container note you will find two dashboards—Dash: Styles and Dash: Directories. These should be viewed (not opened) in Map View.

A Tinderbox dashboard is a collection of notes organized and styled for the purposes of display and control. Notes in a dashboard serve double-duty as numerical tallies, progress bars, graphs, due dates, and so on.

The two BoxPress dashboards function primarily as control panels.

To use a dashboard note you simply open it. Hit ⌘5 to view it in the Text Pane, or hit ⌘⌥X to view it in its own Text Window.
