Q: What’s the difference between featured and embedded images?
Images that have been placed inside the img folder can be exported with your posts. BoxPress lets you deploy images in two ways—as a featured image and as an embedded image.
Featured image
You can attach an image to a post or sub-post as a Featured Image. Notes with Featured Images change their $Badge
to Picture. A Featured Image will appear in three places:
- At the very top of the post (or sub-post) right after the title and date.
- As a thumbnail on the left side of the truncated (50-word) teaser version of the post that appears on the home page and on cat-note pages.
- As an ultra-thumbnail on the left side of a SmartButton.
Embedded image
An embedded image is one that appears in the middle of your text flow. Adding an embedded image is famously easy in BoxPress. To embed an image without a caption, use MediaImg. To embed an image with caption, use MediaFig.
