Add aliases

Add OWNPAGE to children of compiled notes
Remember that compiled children are not additionally exported as their own webpages. This is good and economical. If a note is a compiled child, clicking on it in the Imagemap will do nothing. To make sure every Imagemap button has a target, make sure every note has a webpage. Just add OWNPAGE to any compiled children that appear in your Imagemap.

Add aliases manually

Put aliases of every note that you want to be in the Imagemap inside of it. You should always make your Map Views (and exported HTML Imagemaps) out of aliases rather than originals (see above).

To make and move aliases in the same window, just make sure the Mapmaker and its children are visible in the same Outline View. Select the notes you want, then hit ⌘L to make the aliases. These will be automatically selected when they are made. Then just drag them inside the Mapmaker.

To move the aliases between windows, just hit ⌘L and then ⌘X to cut them. (This can be done rapidly because Tinderbox automatically selects aliases when they are made.) Then select your Mapmaker and hit ⌘V.

To my new MapMaker: Demo note I will add aliases of all the children of the Content Wizardry note. So I follow the above procedure, by hitting ⌘L and then ⌘X to cut them:

Everything selected and ready for alias-making and -cutting.
Everything selected and ready for alias-making and -cutting.

Then I paste them inside of MapMaker: Demo:

Pasted inside my container.

If you have made your map from originals, you can return the note to the normal_note prototype if you like. Keeping the mapmaker_note prototype is helpful—the icon lets you know that this note is a dedicated Mapmaker.

Add aliases automatically

If you are using Method 2: Make an agent for automatic filling, the aliases will arrive automatically from the Source Container.
